‌‌🍯 Natural honey produced in the mountains of Urmia (Turkey border)
In the mountainous regions of northwest Urmia, especially on the Iran-Turkey border, there are special natural conditions that lead to the production of specific natural substances such as mountain honey, plant syrups, and organic products with a natural sugar composition. This region is part of West Azerbaijan province and is climatically influenced by Mediterranean air masses and humidity from the eastern Anatolian mountains.

Due to the high altitude (1500 to 2500 meters above sea level) and the diversity of mountain plants, local bees and specific plant species in this region are able to produce natural sugars whose saccharose content is measured between 0.5 and 1.5 percent. This amount indicates naturalness and the absence of added artificial sugar.

The honey and mountain syrups of this region are usually obtained from medicinal plants such as tragacanth, thyme, galbanum, yellow flower, coriander, and several species of mountain iris. For this reason, they have a strong aroma, rich taste, and high medicinal value. These natural compounds are traditionally collected by local residents and offered in the markets of Urmia, Salmas, and Oshnavieh.
