The shape of this fruit is an elongated oval, with a very narrow and pointed end. The fruit turns yellow in the kharak stage, light brown in the rutab stage, and reddish-brown to light yellow in the date stage. It is a very high-quality variety, suitable for storage and easy transportation, and is considered an export variety. This date is classified as a dry date, is a late-ripening type, and has a high rate of shedding.
The highest quality Zahidi dates are light brown or chocolate brown.

The sugar in this type of date is fructose, which not only does not cause high blood sugar but is also effective for diabetics and people on weight loss diets.

Zahidi dates have low moisture and a long shelf life (up to 3 years).
