Pofaki barberry is considered one of the highest quality types of seedless barberry from Qaenat. Unlike the Anari type, Pofaki barberry has puffed grains and a bright red color, and is usually not wrinkled or stuck together. This type of barberry is harvested with its branches and dried in the shade, not under direct sunlight. This drying method causes the barberry grains to puff up and prevents wrinkling, giving it a beautiful appearance and a bright red color. Unlike the Anari type, drying with branches in the shade is time-consuming, and it is generally available in the market from late Bahman (February) until the start of the next harvest season.
